The end.......One down Five to go

last night my oldest daughter had her commencements from high school.

we decorated the outside of the house for her while she was at rehersal.

She graduated with honors.

 

She was one of 350 who graduated.  It was a beautiful evening and a beautiful ceremony. 

She will be attending Michigan State University in just a few short months.  We are so proud!!!

 I discovered them on this site..........and now I am not only going to make these TODAY.  I am going to find hours to spend on Bakerella.   I love this blog ~ very very cool ideas.

afternoon delight

I had the most refreshing drink this afternoon........

 

Rosemary Lemonade.........I am not even a big fan of rosemary - I now have a fonder appreciation for the herb!!

Rosemary Lemonade

(makes 6 cups)
5 c water

1 c sugar

1 c fresh rosemary leaves

1/2 c fresh lemon juice

Mix sugar and two cups of water in a saucepan and boil gently for five minutes. Add the rosemary, remove the mixture from the heat, and let cool. Strain the liquid into a pitcher and add three cups of water and the fresh lemon juice. Stir well and serve over ice with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

New "old" rocking chair

Bought this old rocker today at an antique fair

 

loved the chippy paint, but most of all I adore the grain sack upolstery.

 

i am trying to find the perfect spot for it

 

this will do for now.........oh I wish I had one of those big front porches, or maybe a screened in porch

 driving by the little neighborhood cemetary i thought i saw something unusual.   OKAY  think fast...

i did a u ewy!  told my son to grab the camera and i pulled over and started shooting (pictures that is).

i suppose with the economic crisis, why not hold karate class in a cemetary?....the price must be right and the only thing likely to disturb you is a woman with a camera and a car full of kids.  

Gift Bags

I needed a few large gift bags.

I happened to have had some white bags in my storage room.

gave the girls some crayons and markers...

4 year old bday

 

today was my niece Sophia's birthday.

not only is she incredibly cute and sweet.....she is Four!

 

 

it's my party and i'll cry if i want to!

a great day for a birthday party.  happy birthday sophia!

i've moved
